Brewer’s Guild beer school planned for Allagash Barrel Room

The Maine Brewer’s Guild’s Beer School is heading to Portland next week for the latest installment of their series of interactive events promoting Maine’s craft beer industry.

Scheduled for Thursday, March 26, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the event is entitled “The Art of Blending Barrels,” and will be held at the Allagash Barrel Room in Portland.

Interested? At the event, participants “will sample from barrels of various ages and beers, learning about what to look for to build a beer through barrel blending,” according to the Brewer’s Guild. They will also learn about flavors and characteristics of beers.

Even better: “The group will help determine the bottle blend for the future release of Cuvee de Industrial, a beer slated for a mid to late 2015 release.”

To purchase tickets, visit the Beer School site for instructions (hint: you have to sign up for their newsletter).
