Asian Bistro, the restaurant formerly known as Little Vietnam, quietly closed its doors at the end of the summer. Though it was announced on the eatery’s Facebook page in late August, it was not common knowledge that the Hogan Road restaurant was closed.

A post on Facebook detailed some of the reasonings behind the closure.

“We’ve been there for almost 5 years but we decided to close up to relocate somewhere else in the Bangor area,” read the post. “Preferably the downtown area. To pick up more customers that still haven’t heard of us before and our previous name… We feel like the area that we were in was not good because we were hidden… We hope to see all you guys again when we open up at a new location in Bangor.”

The restaurant opened in March 2013 as Little Vietnam, specializing in Vietnamese food including pho, vermicelli noodles and banh mi sandwiches. In June 2016 Biu Vo took over as owner, changing the name to Asian Bistro and adding Chinese dishes, in addition to Vietnamese menu items.
